Ultimately, it comes down to the one question we hear so often, “Why Vanderbilt?” I ventured around campus to find out just that, and here are the top 5 most common responses of why Freshmen chose Vanderbilt.

Vanderbilt offers amazing financial aid which is often a deciding factor for many college students.

Last year especially, Vanderbilt was ranked in the top 15 schools in the country, a promising selling point for many.
3. Early Decision (ED)
When asking freshmen, a common answer is that they applied a binding decision which was the ultimate factor of where they ended up attending University.
4. Rejection of ED 1 lead to Vanderbilt ED 2
Close to popularity in the ED 1 response is this one. Several students applied ED 1 at other schools and submitted their ED 2 application to Vanderbilt after being deferred or rejected.
5. Vanderbilt was the best choice
This one was pretty vague, it often came from students who got in through regular decisions and were weighing their options. Come decision day, Vanderbilt was the final answer.
